Having been a band for close to a decade; it brings us great pleasure to finally announce the Allah Las' debut tour of Australia. In 2012 the band released their stunning debut LP unto the world with the help from R&B extraordinaire Nick Waterhouse. With Waterhouse's finesse and the band's willingness and possibly naivety they produced a truly beautifully simple, melancholic and timeless record. One of our favourite self titled records, that deserves its place next to the likes of The Velvet Underground's self titled. Two years later their sophomore LP Worship The Sun received critical acclaim from The Los Angeles Times who said the album “…lets the band’s trippy vintage rock absorb all sorts of new Southern California influences. Latin drumming, L.A.’s midcentury avant-garde beach culture and Laurel Canyon harmonies.” Third album, 2016’s Calico Review was recorded in Los Angeles’ historic Valentine Recording Studio. For the album, Allah-Las experiment with new instrumentation adding violin, harpsichord and Mellotron to their sound. The twelve tracks on Calico Review demonstrate how the group has pivoted from focusing on specific influences to crafting songs that reflect their own feelings of freedom, grit and melancholy. “Cramming as much guts and passion as possible into three and a half minutes or less—while burning it’s own path, with brooding, lonesome songs, tightly restrained surf inflected musings on girls and freedom.” - The New Yorker “Los Angeles garage-rock gurus Allah-Las tap into an alternate reality where the world is but a California dream.” - SPIN Friday 12th May 2017 The Zoo, Brisbane QLD Tickets http://zoo.oztix.com.au/?Event=71130 Saturday 13th May 2017 The Northern, Byron Bay NSW Tickets http://thenorthern.oztix.com.au/?Event=71086 Sunday 14th May 2017 Miami Marketta, Gold Coast QLD Tickets http://miamimarketta.oztix.com.au/?Event=71083 Wednesday 17th May 2017 Oxford Art Factory, Sydney NSW SOLD OUT Thursday 18th May 2017 Oxford Art Factory, Sydney NSW - JUST ADDED! HOMESHAKE (CAN) - DEBUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR 2016
HOMESHAKE (CAN) - DEBUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR 2016
Slacker-jazz, RnB virtuoso and former Mac DeMarco guitarist, Peter Sagar has finally announced he’ll make his debut visit to Australia under the guise of Homeshake, with his full band in tow in 2016.
Growing up in the freezing cold winter of Edmonton Alberta, Peter Sagar moved to the freezing cold winter of Montreal Quebec where he joined Mac DeMarco as his long-standing guitarist and endured a dizzying time of touring on the back of Rock and Roll Night Club and 2. It was in 2014 when his side-project of Homeshake burst into view with the release of his debut album In The Shower. As Homeshake took off, Sagar reflected on the loneliness that plagued him and longed for life back home in Montreal. He recently broke away from those goof gods to work away on his own, beautifully tape-warped take on indie-pop and focus on rebuilding the infrastructure of his life.

NANCY WHANG (USA) - SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS & SIDESHOWS
NANCY WHANG (USA) - SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS & SIDESHOWS
We are thrilled to bring you New York underground dance music royalty Nancy Whang for Splendour in the Grass and some accompanying side shows. Thursday 23rd - Dance Technique @ New Guernica - Melbourne Friday 24th - Oxford Art Factory - (Late Set) - Sydney Saturday 25th - Splendour In The Grass - Byron Bay Nancy Whang is among the few who can lay claim to being a key figure in the heady early days of the rise of DFA Records, and her DJ sets remain faithful to the post-punk party aesthetic upon which DFA was founded. Nancy’s contributions on early 12′′‘s by LCD Soundsystem and The Juan MacLean quickly lead to her full-time involvement as a permanent member in each of those bands. Shortly after, guest appearances on Soulwax’s seminal track ‘E Talking’ and Munk’s ‘Kick Out The Chairs’ solidified her place as a highly sought after vocalist in the burgeoning alternative dance music scene. It was this auspicious debut upon which Nancy has since built an electrifying career as a touring and recording member of LCD Soundsystem. Logging years of touring miles, Nancy was instrumental in establishing LCD as one of the decades most exciting live bands, headlining some of the greatest festivals worldwide in addition to endless club gigs. As if that were not enough, in LCD’s downtime Nancy also fronted DFA act The Juan MacLean, again setting off on rigorous touring schedules of both festivals and clubs across the globe. Her appearance on The Juan MacLean’s massive dance hit ‘Happy House’ once again solidified her place as a sort of hitmaking voice of underground dance music.
